Our Doctors and Nurse Practitioners

With 12 Doctors, 4 Nurse Practitioners and 2 Nurse Prescribers of varying nationalities and specialties at our practice in Howick, we are confident you will find a doctor suited to you and your family’s needs.  Most of our Doctors are fellowship members of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners, so you can be assured of high quality and professional care. Most of our Doctors live locally.

Special interests and skills within the medical team include family medicine, women’s health, family planning, child health or paediatrics, minor surgery, diving medicine, senior health, preventative or lifestyle health, men’s medicine, rehabilitation, diabetes care, long term condition care and cardio-vascular medicine.

We are a teaching practice –  training two GP registrars each year. Dr Bruce Greenfield provides the teaching component of the GP Registrar Programme.

Dr Elyse Conijn

BSC MSC

Dr Elyse Conijn is originally from the Netherlands and holds both a medical degree and a Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences. Dr Elyse gained valuable experience working in emergency medicine and acute psychiatry and covers all areas of general practice, with a special interest in women’s health, Dr Elyse is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centred care and looks forward to supporting your health journey.
Languages: Native speaker of both English and Dutch.

Dr Rosanne Hijdra

Dr Rosanne Hijdra completed her medical degree and training in the Netherlands.  Her area of expertise includes paediatrics, sexual and reproductive health, women’s health, psychology, and life coaching.  Outside of her professional work, she enjoys mountain biking, and exploring thrift shops and flea markets.  Languages: Dutch, English and limited Afrikaans

Dr Brendon Aish

Dr Brendon is a New Zealand born and trained Family Practitioner with a love of his family of four children. Brendon has a passion for good health outcomes for everyone in the community. He believes communication is key to healthy relationships.

Dr Bruce Greenfield

MBChB (Otago), DipOB, FRNZCGP

Dr Bruce Greenfield started Crawford Medical Centre in Howick in 1972. His medical specialties now include care of the elderly and teaching Graduate doctors. He is a WINZ Designated Dr and does minor surgery for the Plastics Dept of South Auckland Health Care. Golf is his main sporting interest.

Dr Linley Murray

Dr Linley Murray is a general practitioner in the truest sense and this is exactly what you want from your family doctor. Linley has a Diploma in Community Emergency Medicine. Linley joined Crawford Medical Centre in 1987. Languages English

Dr Graham Witney

Dr Graham Witney has worked in the Howick area as a GP since 1990. Graham trained as a General Surgeon for 5 years. His special interest: minor surgery and health promotion. In his spare time he enjoys cycling and boating. Dr Witney works a late night on Tuesdays

Dr Lorraine Forbes

MBChB, FRNZCGP

Dr Lorraine Forbes works in all aspects of General Practice and Emergency Care. She was born and raised in Zimbabwe, and studied at the University of Cape Town Medical School. In 1993, she emigrated to New Zealand and joined Crawford Medical Centre.

Dr James Lin

Dr James Lin has practiced medicine in Taiwan and New Zealand. His special interest: minor surgery including skin lesions, children and the elderly care. Dr Lin enjoys tramping, swimming biking and tennis. Joined Crawford Medical Centre in 2006. Languages fluent English, Mandarin and Taiwanese.

Dr Kate Gittins

BM, FRNZCGP (London)

Dr Kate Gittins grew up in Wales and her medical training was completed at Southampton University in the South of England. She then trained as a GP in London, and has now worked as a GP for 19 years. She covers all areas of general practice, but has a special interest in dermatology, women’s health and family planning. Kate fell in love with New Zealand when she worked here as a Registrar and decided to move permanently.  In her spare time she can be found running, mountain biking and walking the family dog.

Dr Michael Chen

BSc, BMedSc (Hons), MBChB

Dr Michael Chen is an Otago University Medical School graduate. He has been working in hospitals in Dunedin and Auckland DHBs prior to joining Crawford. Michael emigrated from China in 1995 and has spent considerable time in urban and rural New Zealand. He is fluent in both English and Mandarin. His main sporting interest is tennis.

Dr Janli Stapelberg

MBChB, FRNZCGP

Dr Janli Stapelberg completed her MBChB at UFS, Bloemfontein, South Africa.  She came to NZ in 1994 and specialised in General Practice in 2013. Janli is a GP who welcomes all patients, but has a special interest in: Orthopaedics, Dermatology, and Neurology.  Janli is a single mom with two lovely children and feels blessed to live in this wonderful country.  Sy kan Afrikaans praat.

Dr Li-Hsing Chou

Dr Li-Hsing Chou is a University of Auckland graduate. After gaining three years of experience in Auckland’s hospitals, he is now in his second year of a GP training programme. His practice emphasizes patient-centred and evidence-based care, with a focus on lifestyle and preventative medicine. Outside of work, Li-Hsing trains in the gym and also enjoys swimming and football.
He is fluent in both English and Mandarin.

NP Robyn McCullough

Robyn began her career in Australia, working as a registered nurse in aged care, and later moved to NZ and qualified as a Nurse Practitioner.  She has 15 years experience as an NP in palliative care.  In her spare time, Robyn indulges her love or art, and enjoys being outdoors.

NP Pratik Parikh

Mstr NSc, PG DIP NSc

Pratik is a Nurse Practitioner with a scope across the life span. His experience includes primary and acute care in Wellington. He is fluent in English, Hindi, Gujarati, and Punjabi, with conversational skills in Marathi and Kannada. Outside work, he cherishes family time, try to get fit while exploring his passion for food.

NP Ashleigh Fox

Mstr Nur (Hon), PG DIP Hsc

Ashleigh graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing from MIT in 2017.  Driven by a passion for improving health outcomes in the community, she has dedicated her nursing career to the Primary Health sector.  She completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Registered Nurse Prescribing in 2020. In 2023, Ashleigh joined Crawford Medical Centre as a Nurse Prescriber while completing a Master’s degree in Advanced Nursing Practice with a Nurse Practitioner focus.  She qualified as a Nurse Practitioner in January 2025.

NP Zoey Zhao

Zoey graduated with a Master of nursing from the University of Auckland. She is a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner, she has a broad experience in General Practice, preventive care and chronic disease management. Her approach is characterised by empathy, attention to detail and a strong emphasis on building lasting relationships. She ensures that each patient receives personalised and comprehensive treatment.

Binda Wang

Nurse Prescriber

Binda graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing from Invercargill. He also has a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Science (University of Auckland).
He worked in different areas of nursing including aged care, general surgical and urgent care prior to joining Crawford Medical in 2021.
In his spare time, he enjoys time in the outdoors, bush walking, reading and is currently learning German.
Binda is fluent in English, Chinese Mandarin, and understands Shanghainese.

Stephanie Zhang

Mstr Nur (Hon), PG DIP Hsc

Stephanie completed her nursing degrees and Master of Nursing with Honors from the University of Auckland.  She specialises in long-term conditions and diabetes management, focusing on type 1 diabetes, continuous glucose monitors (CGMs), insulin pumps and automated insulin delivery systems, obesity and medical weight management. 

Stephanie is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
